There are concerts that entertain you — and then there are nights that take you back to who you once were. Enrique Iglesias’ live concert at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, was exactly that — a nostalgia-fueled, heart-thumping evening that brought back memories of the music we grew up loving and living through.
When I first heard Enrique was returning to Mumbai, there was no way I was missing it. His songs have been the soundtrack of countless memories — Bailamos, Addicted, Hero, Escape, Could I Have This Kiss Forever with Whitney Houston, and I Like It featuring Pitbull — all etched into the emotional timeline of my youth. Like most millennials, I grew up memorizing every lyric and crooning along in my most gloriously off-key voice. And that, perhaps, is what makes Enrique’s music so timeless — it’s personal, it’s emotional, and it’s beautifully imperfect in the way it connects to your heart.
Interestingly, the last time Enrique performed in Mumbai was back in 2004, at the very same venue. Though he returned to India in 2012 for a three-city tour across Bengaluru, Gurugram, and Pune, he skipped Mumbai that time — making this comeback after over two decades truly special for the city.
The Night That Was
The evening began on a high note with Jonita Gandhi taking the stage for the opening act. Her performance was a lively mix of her hits, peppered with some foot-tapping Punjabi and Bollywood tracks that instantly set the energy in motion. The crowd swayed, cheered, and sang along — but all eyes were waiting for the moment he would appear.
And then he did.
Enrique Iglesias took over the stage, and in that instant, time stopped. His charm, his voice, and that easy swagger reminded everyone why he’s been a global heartthrob for over two decades. The audience roared as he belted out his signature numbers — Bailamos, Hero, Escape, Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You), Be With You, and Addicted. Every note, every lyric carried the same magnetic energy that first made us fall for him years ago.
What made the night even more magical was the diverse crowd — Gen Z, millennials, and families — all coming together under one pulsating Mumbai sky. This time, I was joined by my Gen Z influencer son, for whom Enrique’s music was a revelation. Watching him discover and actually enjoy the same songs that once defined my era felt surreal — like two generations bonding over shared beats and timeless love ballads.
A Night to Remember
By the end of the night, we were drenched, exhausted, and utterly exhilarated. The air was thick with music, sweat, and the collective euphoria of thousands singing along. It was chaotic, imperfect, but oh-so-satisfying — the kind of evening that stays etched in memory long after the lights fade out.
A heartfelt shoutout to Team DNH Media for making this unforgettable night possible, and immense appreciation to Deepak Chaudhary of Eva Live, whose vision brought Enrique back to Mumbai after more than twenty years.
And if you missed it tonight, don’t despair — Enrique Iglesias performs again tomorrow, October 30th, 2025, at MMRDA Grounds, BKC. This is one experience you absolutely don’t want to miss.
As I walked out of the venue, the night breeze carried the lingering echoes of Bailamos. For a fleeting moment, it felt like stepping back into a younger, carefree version of myself — one who still believes love can be sung into existence.
Because when Enrique sings, the world doesn’t just listen — it remembers, it feels, and it dances.
