KidZania Mumbai, India’s premier indoor edutainment theme park at R City Mall, Ghatkopar, has just leveled up its digital game. Global cybersecurity leader Kaspersky has officially launched the Kaspersky Cyber Investigation Centre, a groundbreaking role-play experience designed to turn the city’s youngest residents into digital detectives.
This first-of-its-kind establishment invites children aged 6 and above to step into the shoes of a cyber-investigator, tackling real-world missions involving phishing, identity theft, and cyberbullying. By utilizing Kaspersky’s sophisticated security tools, kids don’t just play—they gain the vital digital literacy skills needed to navigate an increasingly connected world safely.
The Digital Shift: Why Mumbai’s ‘Digital Natives’ Need a New Kind of Shield
In an era where the playground is as much digital as it is physical, today’s children are true digital natives. From the moment they first swipe a screen, they are navigating a world of immense benefits—but also hidden risks. The statistics are a wake-up call for every urban parent:
- Early Access: A staggering 82.2% of Indian children have consistent access to mobile devices by the age of 14.
- A Connected Lifestyle: These devices aren’t just for school tasks; they are the primary hubs for gaming, streaming, and maintaining social lifelines with friends and family.
- The Critical Gap: As young Mumbaikars grow up immersed in this connected ecosystem, the need to equip them with cybersecurity awareness has moved from “optional” to “essential.”
By bringing this mission to KidZania Mumbai, Kaspersky is bridging that gap—transforming complex digital safety into a tactile, high-stakes investigation that resonates with the next generation of tech-savvy leaders.
“Through a playful, immersive experience, children in India can step into the role of Cyber Investigators, learning about the most common risks of the digital world and discovering the best cybersecurity tools that help protect our digital lives. This is what the cyber heroes of tomorrow will look like,” comments Jaydeep Singh, General Manager for India at Kaspersky,
“At Kaspersky, we believe that cybersecurity is not just a technology challenge, it is a human one. The earlier we equip children with the awareness and skills to navigate the digital world safely, the stronger our collective digital future becomes. Our partnership with KidZania brings this vision to life in the most meaningful way possible by making cybersecurity education immersive, engaging, and genuinely fun for children. We are proud to launch the Cyber Investigation Centre in India, and we look forward to inspiring a new generation of digital defenders,” he adds.
“Every parent today is thinking about how to prepare their child for a digital-first future. At KidZania, we translate those concerns into meaningful experiences. Partnering with Kaspersky, a global leader in cybersecurity, allows us to ensure that children are not just aware of the digital world, but equipped to navigate it safely and confidently” said Mr. Tarandeep Singh Sekhon, CBO, KidZania India.
The Kaspersky Cyber Investigation Centre offers a hands-on experience for kids. Children suit up in Kaspersky uniforms and are stationed at dedicated workstations equipped with monitors and Kaspersky’s security software. Through interactive simulations and digital missions, they learn to identify online threats, practice safe browsing, and respond to real cybersecurity scenarios, all within a 20-minute, hands-on session accommodating up to 6 children at a time. The activity is designed to develop critical thinking, digital awareness, and responsible online behavior in a fun and engaging environment, with children earning KidZos upon successful completion of their investigation.
During the grand launch ceremony at KidZania Mumbai, senior leadership from both Kaspersky and KidZania India inaugurated the Centre alongside media and influencers. The event followed KidZania’s signature show flow, featuring a Diya lighting ceremony, a dance performance, a key handover, and a grand parade through KidZania city, culminating in a ribbon-cutting at the Cyber Investigation Centre and a live role-play experience for guests.
Exclusive Perks for Families
As a bonus, visitors purchasing KidZania tickets will receive a complimentary 2-month Kaspersky trial subscription, while Annual Pass holders benefit from a 1-year subscription. Kaspersky discount vouchers will also be distributed to families at exit, and children who complete the role-play will receive a personalized Kaspersky Cyber Investigator card. This keepsake marks their achievement as a certified cyber defender.
As the temperature rises, there is no better time to head to the ever-popular KidZania Mumbai; we highly recommend parents bring their young ones this summer to experience this world-class centre and transform them into the cyber heroes of tomorrow!
