
As we step into the new year, many of us reflect on our health and well-being and set resolutions to lead a healthier, happier life. For me, 2025 is the year I plan to transform my lifestyle, both physically and mentally. To make my journey more exciting and purposeful, I’ve set an ambitious but achievable benchmark: running a marathon. While I might not immediately tackle the full 42.195 kilometers, I’ve set my sights on one of the shorter categories of an upcoming marathon as the perfect starting point for my fitness goals.
Leading up to this, I’m excited to participate in the Water Kingdom’s Marathon on 12th January 2025. This event features three different race categories — 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM — making it ideal for individuals at various fitness levels. The marathon will take participants on a scenic route starting from the Bayview Parking Lot at Borivali Gorai Jetty, passing through iconic local landmarks like the Don Bosco Signal and Mandapeshwar IC Colony, and offering breathtaking views of both nature and urban life.
Embracing Physical Activity, One Step at a Time
Though I’m excited to participate in the marathon, I’m not rushing into it. I’m starting slow and building my stamina over time. Whether it’s a light jog around the neighborhood or more focused interval training, every small step matters. Incorporating walking, stretching, and occasional cycling into my routine helps me stay active and reduce the stress on my body. Cycling, in particular, has become something I love — it’s a low-impact exercise that boosts cardiovascular health and brings me outdoors.
Mental Health and Wellness
Physical health is only one piece of the puzzle. Mental health is equally important, and I’m committed to giving it the attention it deserves in 2025. I’m making space for meditation and mindfulness every morning, which will not only help me relax but also improve my focus and performance during runs. Journaling my thoughts and setting aside time for self-reflection will be a regular part of my routine. Mental wellness will keep me motivated and resilient as I work toward my fitness goals.
Pursuing New Interests and Hobbies
In addition to improving my physical and mental health, I’m keen to explore new hobbies in 2025. I’ve always been fascinated by art, so I plan to take up painting and sketching as a creative outlet. It will help me unwind and give me a sense of accomplishment that complements my fitness journey. Learning editing skills for creating better video content will also be on my list — enhancing my travel blog videos will not only bring joy but also allow me to document and share my health and wellness progress with others.
Travel Blogging: Exploring New Places
As a travel enthusiast, 2025 will also see me focusing on my passion for travel blogging. This will help me expand my horizons and learn more about different cultures and places. Traveling has always been a source of joy for me, and sharing those experiences will keep me motivated and encourage a sense of adventure. Whether it’s exploring new cities or running in different locations, travel will be my way of keeping life exciting.
Living a Holistic Lifestyle
Incorporating all these elements — physical activity, mental health, new hobbies, and travel — will allow me to live a holistic lifestyle. I believe this approach will enhance my overall well-being and help me achieve my goal of a healthier, happier life. I’m focused on not just crossing the marathon finish line but also transforming the way I live day-to-day, in a way that nurtures my body, mind, and spirit.

Running a marathon is the perfect benchmark to kickstart my wellness journey, but it’s not just about the race.
