Mumbai Port Authority Opens Gates to Maritime Heritage with Free Guided Tours

The Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), is offering the public a unique opportunity to explore India’s maritime heritage through free guided tours of the iconic Mumbai Port in collaboration with The Heritage Project (THP), a nonprofit organization, and the Mumbai Port Sustainability Foundation (MPSF). The Mumbai Port has opened a window of seven days, inviting general public to access to restricted areas and get to know the port’s inner workings for the first time.

Scheduled from 14^th to 20^th December, 2024 this week-long event will provide a rare glimpse into the history, operations, and significance of one of India’s oldest and most prominent ports.

This initiative aims to bridge the gap between the port and the broader community, allowing participants to access restricted areas and gain firsthand insights into the port’s historical and operational relevance. The guided tours promise an immersive experience blending history, culture, and modern port operations. Participants will explore key landmarks, learn captivating stories of Mumbai’s maritime transformation, and witness live port activities.

Designed to be inclusive, the tours are accessible to the elderly, individuals with special needs, and students.
