Mumbai had a weekend like no other on 22nd and 23rd November 2025 when Rolling Loud, the world’s biggest hip-hop festival, made its debut at Loud Park in Kharghar. And for our family, it wasn’t just a festival — it was a dream come true for our 17-year-old Jeehan, who has been passionately following the rise of his favourite artists from the very start.
For Jeehan, Rolling Loud isn’t just a concert. It’s a place of reverence, a hub where global hip-hop culture meets the energy, spirit, and aspirations of his generation. He has followed Central Cee, Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Swae Lee, Wiz Khalifa, and Karan Aujla with unbridled enthusiasm — tracking their music, collaborations, chart-topping hits, and the journeys that brought them from humble beginnings to global recognition. Witnessing them live on Indian soil for the first time was a moment of pure elation for him — one that had been months, even years, in the making.
From the moment we entered Loud Park, the excitement was palpable. Jeehan could barely contain himself as Swae Lee performed “Calling, “Sunflower,” singing along with every word, lights and phones flashing across the crowd. Wiz Khalifa followed with nostalgic anthems like “Young, Wild & Free” and “The Thrill,” which had Jeehan jumping and cheering as if he’d been waiting for this exact moment his whole life. Central Cee’s performance of “Guilt Trippin’”, complete with his iconic Mahadev T-shirt, became a viral highlight, and watching Jehan react to it — mouth open in awe, fists pumping — was a parent’s joy in itself.
Day two was no less magical. Don Toliver’s “No Pole” washed over the venue with a dreamy, soulful intensity, and Karan Aujla’s “Admirin’ You” marked the perfect homegrown crescendo. Jeehan’s eyes sparkled as he sang along, soaking in the energy of an arena full of fans who shared his admiration and excitement. As parents, we found ourselves swept up in the atmosphere, understanding a little better the music, the passion, and the culture that fills his world.
Rolling Loud isn’t just about the music; it’s about the E.X.P.E.R.I.E.N.C.E. Jeehan explored every corner of the festival — from tattoo stations and skate parks to basketball and pickleball courts, arcade zones, and a variety of food options that ranged from fiery global street food to Mumbai classic. The immersive nature of the festival, the sense of community, and the freedom to just be — it was everything a Gen Z kid dreams of, all under one sky.
Watching Jeehan light up at every performance, interact with the festival’s energy, and simply be in the moment reminded us as parents why music and culture are such central parts of a teenager’s world. It gave us a glimpse into the universe that makes him tick, the rhythm that fuels his dreams, and the artists who inspire him every day.
Rolling Loud India wasn’t just a treat for Jeehan — it was a family experience. Sharing his excitement, witnessing the live versions of songs that we’ve also come to love, and seeing the festival’s vibrancy firsthand created memories that will stay with him — and with us — for a lifetime.
