Some restaurants feed you. Some quietly become part of your family’s story.
Our recent evening at Toscano Andheri West began with a simple plan — chase Mumbai’s much-talked-about summer mango menu. But somewhere between the warm sourdough baskets, wood-fired pizzas, beautifully balanced mocktails and the very decadent mango desserts, the night turned into something far more memorable: the kind of dining experience that reminds you why people willingly cross the city for a really good meal.
In a Mumbai dining scene overflowing with gimmicks and fleeting food trends, Toscano does something refreshingly rare — it delivers consistency, warmth, atmosphere and genuinely excellent Italian food without making the experience feel intimidating or extravagantly overpriced. It feels indulgent, yes, but also accessible enough to make you want to keep returning with friends, family or even solo comfort-food cravings.
For the three of us — myself, Dinesh and our 17-year-old son Jeehan — that first visit quickly became a full-fledged Toscano obsession.
Service That Makes You Feel Like a Regular

The moment you walk into Toscano’s Andheri West outpost, the city noise seems to soften around you.
There is an understated elegance to the space — warm wood textures, glowing amber lighting, cosy seating and an atmosphere that feels sophisticated without trying too hard. Unlike many fine-dining restaurants that can sometimes feel formal or performative, Toscano gets the balance just right. It is refined enough for a special occasion, yet relaxed enough for a spontaneous weekday dinner with family.
And somehow, that balance extends beautifully to the pricing too.
For a restaurant serving handcrafted Italian cuisine, artisanal breads, curated wines and thoughtfully plated dishes, the experience genuinely feels value-for-money — especially in Mumbai’s ever-escalating dining landscape. Add to that the various ongoing offers and promotions available across the restaurant group, and it becomes even easier to understand why Toscano has built such a fiercely loyal customer base over the years.
Much of that charm also comes from the hospitality itself. Keshab Sharma manages the floor with a calm confidence that instantly puts diners at ease, while the staff move with an attentiveness that never feels intrusive. Water glasses are refilled before they are empty, recommendations arrive thoughtfully, and every interaction feels warm rather than rehearsed.
It is polished hospitality, but with heart — something increasingly rare in a city where rushed dining experiences have become the norm.
This is the kind of place that quietly turns into “your regular spot” before you even realise it.
A Table Full of Happy Distractions

Every table at Toscano is welcomed with a complimentary basket of freshly baked multigrain breads paired with house-made dips — and honestly, this alone deserves its own loyal fan following.
The breads arrive warm, crusty and wonderfully fresh, carrying the unmistakable comfort of something made in-house rather than mass-produced. Between bites, we found ourselves slowing down, relaxing into the evening and instantly understanding why Toscano’s bakery programme has earned such a devoted following.
Then came the real challenge: deciding what not to order.
For Dinesh and me, the wood-fired vegetarian pizza was an instant standout — beautifully blistered crust, fresh toppings and a sauce that tasted vibrant rather than overly processed. The pasta was equally memorable: perfectly al dente and coated in a rich, flavourful sauce that clung lovingly to every bite instead of drowning the plate. It was comfort food at its finest — elegant, satisfying and deeply comforting without trying too hard.
And then there was Jeehan’s sourdough sandwich.
Packed generously with fresh vegetables, hearty ham and chicken filling, and layered between perfectly toasted sourdough slices, the sandwich disappeared at a speed that genuinely startled us. Parents of teenagers will understand this immediately: getting a 17-year-old to fully focus on a meal without distraction is practically modern-day wizardry.
Yet there he was — phone forgotten, fully invested, and polishing off every last bite while Dinesh and I exchanged amused, slightly stunned glances across the table.
If Toscano can win over a teenager mid-scroll, it can probably win over anyone.
No great Italian meal is complete without equally memorable drinks, and Toscano delivers beautifully on that front too. Dinesh opted for a classic Mojito — crisp, minty and dangerously easy to sip — while I surrendered entirely to the season with their Mango Pina-Colada Mocktail, a tropical, sunset-hued drink that genuinely tasted like summer in a glass.
Truthfully, I kept alternating between both drinks through the evening because choosing a favourite became impossible. And that says something important about Toscano’s beverage programme: these are not afterthought drinks added merely to complete a menu. They are carefully crafted companions to the food experience itself.
And then came the Fresh Mango Mascarpone Tart — the sort of dessert that quietly silences a table mid-conversation as everyone takes that first perfect bite.
Beautifully balanced between buttery pastry, silky custard and gloriously ripe mangoes, it managed to feel indulgent without becoming heavy. All three of us — usually armed with wildly different dessert preferences and very strong opinions — found ourselves in complete agreement for once.
It felt like summer, comfort and indulgence arriving together on one very beautiful plate.
More Than a Meal — Why Toscano Keeps You Coming Back
What stayed with us long after the meal ended was not just the food, but the feeling Toscano quietly leaves behind — the warmth of the hospitality, the easy elegance of the space and the comfort of discovering one of those rare places you instantly know you will keep returning to with family and friends.
Perhaps that feeling comes from the philosophy behind Toscano itself. Founded by Jean Michel Jasserand and Goutham Balasubramanian, the brand has built a loyal following across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi and Mumbai by blending authentic Italian flavours with heartfelt hospitality — something you sense not just in the food, but in the entire experience from the moment you walk in.
We arrived at Toscano expecting a good meal built around mango season. We left already discussing our next visit — and honestly, that may be the strongest review any restaurant can earn. Because at Toscano, dinner does not really end with dessert; it ends with planning what you are ordering next time.
