In a world where authentic voices matter more than ever, Netflix India and Kommune have announced the fourth edition of their pioneering talent initiative, Voices of Tomorrow (VOT), part of the Voice Equity Project. This one-of-a-kind program is dedicated to discovering, training, and launching senior adults aged 45 and above into the world of dubbing and voice acting, giving them the tools and opportunities to transform passion into a viable career.
Building on the success of previous editions that spotlighted queer voices, children from economically challenged backgrounds, and adults over 45, this year’s focus returns exclusively to senior talent. From August to December 2025, the program will audition around 250 participants from Mumbai before selecting 25 finalists who will embark on an intensive eight-week dubbing journey. These chosen voices will be mentored by industry stalwarts Shernaz Patel, Alekh Sangal, and Simran Singh, receiving hands-on studio training and refining their vocal skills, narrative delivery, and industry readiness through a dedicated training week.
With the rise of synthetic audio and AI-generated sound, this initiative stands as a bold reminder of the irreplaceable power of human storytelling. Senior voices bring with them lived experience, emotional depth, and cultural nuance—qualities that cannot be manufactured. For Netflix India and Kommune, it’s not just about technical skill; it’s about enriching India’s entertainment landscape with perspectives that have long been underrepresented.
Roshan Abbas, Founder of Kommune, describes the project as “A movement to make the dubbing industry more inclusive and authentic,” while Ashwini Kulkarni, Senior Manager, Dubbing at Netflix India, notes that “since 2022, the program has added over 60 new voices to the talent pool, helping Indian stories resonate across global audiences.” The program’s alumni have already lent their voices to major productions like Pushpa 2, Squid Game 2, Dabba Cartel, and beloved children’s shows such as Gali Gali Sim Sim, proving that this platform can open real doors in the entertainment industry.
Eligibility for this edition is simple—participants must be Indian citizens aged 45 and above, residing in Mumbai, and fluent in English.
The initiative invites them to step behind the mic, embrace their individuality, and bring authenticity to every word they deliver. Over its past editions, Voices of Tomorrow has not just created professional opportunities but also reignited creative confidence in its participants, leading many to explore theatre, podcasts, and audiobook narration in addition to dubbing for films and OTT platforms.
By focusing on senior voices in 2025, Netflix India and Kommune are reaffirming their commitment to storytelling that reflects the diversity and richness of lived human experience. In giving these voices the platform they deserve, they’re ensuring that the future of dubbing remains rooted in authenticity, artistry, and the power of being truly heard.
