“Kehte hain agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho… to puri kainaat usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.”
They say if you want something bad enough, the universe conspires to make it happen. We’ve all heard King Khan say it on the big screen. Well, last night at the Jio World Garden, the universe didn’t just conspire—it cranked the volume up to eleven.
My journey to the Def Leppard concert wasn’t planned weeks in advance; it was a whirlwind 24-hour mission. After a day of hunting for those elusive media tickets, I woke up with one thought: I’m going to be there. Call it manifestation or pure rock ‘n’ roll grit, but I made it happen. Because for those of us who never-say-die, these are the experiences that add real meaning to life. I don’t just enjoy life; I crave living it to the fullest, and this concert fit into my soul like the perfect guitar riff.
The vibe at the entrance was already buzzing with electric anticipation. Having attended my fair share of international artist concerts lately, I can safely say this one had a different kind of “heart.” Before the main event, homegrown legends Indus Creed set the stage on fire with their opening act, reminding us why they are the pioneers of Indian rock. Pretty Child got it fair share of cheers from the crowd.
But when the lights dimmed for Def Leppard, the atmosphere went from electric to otherworldly. When Joe Elliott yells, “Let’s Get Rocked,” they aren’t just lyrics—it’s a command. And believe me, Mumbai fell right into the plan!
There is no other way to describe it: we were possessed by the music. Singing along to anthems like Hysteria, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Two Steps Behind, Love Bites, and Rocket wasn’t enough. A few of us found ourselves—giggle—literally dancing on the tables! It took the security team to gently pull us down, making us feel like rebellious teenagers all over again.
What made the night even sweeter was the company. I was joined by the lovely Sharma couple, who flew in all the way from Delhi just for this gig—their energy was absolutely infectious.
In the far corners of the garden, my friend Russel was surely having his own “otherworldly” experience. I owe him a huge thank you for being the one who kicked my butt into gear and fueled my enthusiasm to get those tickets! Sighted in the VIP stands were the gorgeous Reshma Bombaywalla and her crew, plus Bridget and her lovely family from Bandra.

The Verdict: The #Hysteria Continues
As I write this, the ringing in my ears has faded, but the #Hysteria in my mind continues. Def Leppard proved that age is just a number and rock ‘n’ roll is a lifetime commitment.
To the friends I made, the security guards who humored our “table-top” dancing, and the band that defined a generation—thank you for a night I won’t forget anytime soon. Mumbai rocked, and I’m so glad I was right in the center of it.
