Situated in the bustling neighborhood of Goregaon right next to the East side of the Western Express Highway, Baliboo restaurant enjoys an ideal location in the heart of Mumbai’s western suburbs. The moment you walk through the doors, you’re transported to a coastal paradise, with interiors that echo the tranquility and beauty of a beachy destination. Soft hues of sandy beige, lush green, and sun-kissed coral create a serene backdrop, while rattan furniture and flowing drapes add to the breezy, laid-back vibe. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements Baliboo’s diverse culinary delights.
The centerpiece of the restaurant is a striking elephant figurine, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and good fortune. This beautifully crafted piece, with its intricate details, stands as a silent guardian of the space, adding a touch of whimsy and cultural richness to the decor. By day, we’ve seen the images of the restaurant all bathed in natural sunlight, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely brunch or a relaxed lunch. The large windows let in gentle rays, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels just like a day at the beach. As the sun sets, the ambiance shifts to something more intimate. The lighting becomes soft and sultry, casting a warm glow over the tables and creating the perfect setting for a quiet evening with your loved one. It’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to savor every moment, every bite.
Speaking of bites, Baliboo offers a menu that’s as diverse as the decor is delightful. The culinary journey takes you through the flavors of North India, with rich, aromatic curries and succulent kebabs, to the elegant simplicity of Continental cuisine, where fresh ingredients and refined techniques shine. And for those who crave something more adventurous, the Asian selection offers a delightful mix of spicy, tangy, and umami-packed dishes that are sure to excite the palate.
Our dining experience kicked off with a delicious assortment of vegetable and chicken starters – highly recommended – Five Spice Chicken and vegetarian – Xian Style Paneer and ZShitake Miso Croquettas. These were followed by a well-endowed ‘Farm Fresh’ pizza to my son’s delight which was downed by some refreshing mocktails. The main course continued with Black Pepper Paneer with Edamame Fried Rice.
As we sit back soaking in the ambience, enjoying the soft lilt of music in the background, we await the meals finale and our favourite Tiramisu dessert, this to our amazement was masterfully assembled right at our table in a dramatic and entertaining show. The presentation not only delighted our senses but also made the meal experience truly unforgettable.
