India will soon witness one of the world’s most magnificent live entertainment phenomena, Cirque du Soleil’s BAZZAR brought to India by BookMyShow.com.
BAZZAR is a special show and their 43rd production which is inspired and designed to showcase the vivacity and chaos of an Indian bazaar. With dramatic sets at play, quirky costume and set of stunts, the production of this show is sure to transport the audience to another world of fantasy altogether.
The grand set up of The Big Top which was hoisted today was a sight to behold. This is the main arena where the performances will take place. The setting up of the ‘The Big Top’ itself is a wonder, which happened amidst great fanfare. Standing tall at 62 feet high it is 135 feet in diameter and can accommodate over 1500 people at a given time.
“We are looking at a long-term association with the troupe and are equally excited about Cirque du Soleil coming to India,” said Ashish Hemrajani, founder and CE of BookMyShow.
“The troupe is best known for the drama and magical introduction to the world of entertainment and live show”.
The troupe will also include Rajesh Mudki, a resident of Santacruz, Mumbai, who says he had been waiting for such an opportunity for over a decade. Rajesh has created his own character and will be introducing the special Mallakhamba act for BAZZAR.

The largest theatrical producer is all set to debut in India starting on November 15th in Mumbai and December 25th in New Delhi.

The production is expected to host around 60 shows across Mumbai and Delhi and then the troupe will be taking the performance to other countries.

50 nationalities, including 27 dancers, 22 acrobats, two live musicians and of course, a Mallakhamba artist from Mumbai.

Cirque du Soleil works with more than 1,300 artists from 55 countries, ranging from disciplines such as acrobatic gymnastics to circus arts.

Their iconic acts include KÀ, Corteo and Mystère, some of which are permanent shows in Las Vegas.

The shows feature original music written by a composer; musicians and singers perform this score live.
Cirque du Soleil, which literally means ‘circus of the sun’ was formed in 1984. Today it is a name to reckon with, having reinvented itself to promote the dying art of Circus by focusing on dramatic human acts, live music and use of modern technology for a spectacular show which is recognized globally as being one of its kind.
