As Mumbai gears up for the X’mas and NYE festivities, it gets yet another concept restaurant with the launch of #BarBank – a new hotspot in Juhu, in the western suburbs of Mumbai. This is an initiative by Mihir Desai, founder of the popular Bar Stock Exchange and as the name suggests, it has an interesting concept for its patrons.
The Bar Bank is in the same premise which housed the Hotel Beach Garden now renewed to a cafe lounge that is located next door to the Juhu Beach.
Coming back to the Bar Bank, I enter the lovely outdoorsy ambience which has a good mix of seating, from park bench style to high chairs and regular tables to choose from depending on the size of your group. So parked in the centre, I allow myself to soak in the ambience of the place.
The music in the background pumps up the party with just the right sound level that allows one to mingle and converse easily with your friend. I bumped into a few of my lifestylers and media friends who like me were looking for a mid-week occasion to relax.
A few names I have to mention include fellow lifestyle reporter #MarcelleusBaptista who was seen with his creme-de-la-creme party people across the city and my FB friend #NishaHaraale who looked super gorgeous with the beautiful smile she wore.
Other celebrity lifestylers who made it for the launch included Amy Billimoria, Esha Amin, Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis, Tapur Chatterjee, Candice Pinto, Deepti Gujral, Surbhi Jyoti, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Krystal D’Souza, Pearl V Puri, Aly Goni, Tejaswi Wayangankar, Freddy Daruwala, Drew Neal, Ajoy Advani, Nikhil Nichani, Heli Daruwala, Ritu Shivpuri, Rakshanda Khan, to name a few.
Host, Mihir Desai along with event promoter – Kedar Gawde were seen mingling with the guests overseeing their comfort. The comforting news for the patrons here is that unlike the other flea café themed restaurant, you do not have to leave the table to place your order, the waiters will get your order from the food trucks parked around.
