What an absolutely delightful afternoon it was! Recently, I had the privilege of attending an exclusive event at Shoppers Stop, Inorbit Mall, Malad, where we were invited to meet the one and only Michelin Star Chef, Vikas Khanna. The event was part of his exciting new association with Bergner India, a renowned cookware brand, and let me tell you, it was an experience I’ll cherish for a long time.
As we walked into the store, the first thing that caught my eye was the beautifully arranged section dedicated to the Bergner India range of cookware and kitchenware. From gleaming pots and pans to sleek kitchen tools, it was immediately evident that quality was paramount. The cookware was not only visually stunning but also had a reassuring weight to it. You could feel the craftsmanship in every piece, and I found myself instantly drawn to the Bergner casseroles. They looked both elegant and functional, a perfect fit for any modern kitchen.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as guests mingled and exchanged experiences and tips. It felt less like a formal event and more like a gathering of friends, united by their love for cooking and the shared joy of discovering great kitchen tools. The men and women present swapped stories about recipes and cookware preferences, with plenty of friendly banter flying around. You could sense the genuine interest in sharing culinary tips and tricks – and everyone was equally excited about Chef Vikas Khanna’s upcoming masterclass.
As the time drew near, the air was electric with anticipation. And then, the moment we’d all been waiting for arrived: Chef Vikas Khanna made his grand entrance. His warm, charming smile lit up the room, leaving both men and women in awe. The way he interacted with everyone was so natural and endearing. His genuine warmth and humility shone through in every word he spoke.
Chef Khanna shared some fascinating anecdotes about his experiences hosting guests at his world-renowned restaurant in New York, where reservations are often so difficult to get, you have to plan months in advance. Despite his immense success, it was his deep love for his family, especially his mother, who was present at the event, that stood out the most. It was clear that no matter how far he travels, India, his roots, and his family remain at the core of his heart.

As Chef Khanna cooked up a delicious dish, he sprinkled the atmosphere with stories about the delicate balance between tradition and modern-day cooking. By the end of the masterclass, I was not only inspired by Chef Khanna’s culinary expertise but also by his philosophy of caring for others, his humility, and the love he expressed for his family. Meeting him in person reaffirmed my admiration for this incredible human being, and I couldn’t help but feel even more connected to him after snapping a selfie with him – and his lovely Punjabi mom, Bindu, of course!
Leaving the event with my Bergner casserole in hand, I felt a renewed sense of responsibility toward my kitchen and my family’s health. It’s not just about serving the best food, but also about cooking in a way that safeguards health. And with my new Bergner cookware, I’m confident that I can do just that. The experience was a beautiful reminder that cooking is an act of love, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my afternoon.
If you ever get a chance to meet Chef Vikas Khanna or explore the Bergner cookware range, trust me – it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
