~A scintillating day of grape stomping, cellar tastings, wine cooking, live performances, wine painting and many more activities at their picturesque vineyard~
January 27th, 2013 – Nashik: Nestled in the heart of India’s wine country, the Grover Zampa Vineyards played host to an unforgettable celebration of taste, culture, and community – The Great Grover Stomp. Held for the first time since the merger of Grover Vineyards Ltd (GVL) and Vale De Vin Pvt Ltd (VDV), this inaugural event marked a vibrant new chapter in India’s wine narrative. With its seamless blend of scenic beauty, soulful music, and, of course, exquisite wine, the event offered guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the true spirit of winemaking.
The day kicked off with an insightful vineyard tour, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at the lush grape-laden fields. This was followed by a guided winery walkthrough where visitors learned about the intricate wine-making process. A curated wine tasting session in the ambient barrel room allowed connoisseurs to savor the nuanced flavors of Grover Zampa’s finest selections. A delightful gourmet lunch further elevated the experience.
What made the day truly exceptional was the combination of wine and the arts. Live jazz performances filled the air with rhythm, while talented artists painted stunning pieces using wine as their medium – a perfect nod to Grover Zampa’s acclaimed “Art Collection” series. As the sun dipped below the vineyard horizon, guests rolled up their pants and jumped into the much-anticipated grape stomping ritual, symbolically ushering in the harvest season.
Mr. Ravi Jain, CEO of Grover Zampa, reflected on the occasion with pride, saying, “We are thrilled to host our guests and share the craftsmanship behind our wines. Wine is becoming an increasingly appreciated part of Indian culture, and through interactive experiences like this, we aim to elevate the wine journey for all enthusiasts.”
The event attracted a diverse and vibrant crowd including actor-choreographer Farah Khan, Provogue’s Salil Chaturvedi, South Indian actress Aavaana, and renowned architect Karan Grover, among many others.
The Great Grover Stomp was more than just an event – it was an experience that beautifully captured the essence of winemaking, celebration, and community. From the scenic tours to the grape stomping and live art, every element was curated with passion and flair. For those who attended, it wasn’t just a day in Nashik – it was a journey into the heart of Indian viticulture. We look forward to seeing how Grover Zampa continues to blend tradition and innovation in the years to come.
