A controversy breaks out on the DID star, Salman Yusuff Khan, who is all set to play the lead in the upcoming film ‘Love U Family’. Apparently Salman Y. Khan has backed out from promoting the film after having completed the shoot. Rumours have it that the ‘Dance India Dance’ winner felt like the film was woman oriented and had less scope for his character.
Confirming this, the producer Vipul Diwani explained, “From day one, our storyline has been that of a social message for girls and now that he has an issue, it wouldn’t be possible for us to change the film. Salman Yusuff Khan had come onboard after the narration of the story and the theme of the film was made clear to him then. It appears unprofessional on his behalf to now have a problem with the same. Referring to the posters, as the heroine’s poster was designed first Salman was unhappy, but we informed that we would be making his posters and we made it too.
“Kapil Sharma, Salman’s manager demanded 15 lakhs for Salman and informed us only then he would be able to attend any of the promotional activities of our film, ‘Love U Family’. ” concludes Producer Vipul with distaste.
Was it appropriate for this ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ star to demand such an amount to promote his own film?
The film is slated to release on 9 June, 2017 across India.
