Bombay Times Fashion Week Oct 2026 Edition
Genelia D’Souza, Renuka Singh Thakur, Shreyas Talpade and Ibrahim Ali Khan headline the opening day as leading designers and fashion labels bring their collections to the runway
Mumbai has officially slipped into fashion mode, and the opening day of Bombay Times Fashion Week 2026 brought with it the familiar mix of dramatic runway moments, celebrity showstoppers, designers, fashion labels and plenty of glamour. With Diwali just around the corner and the wedding and winter festive season already in sight, the timing could hardly be better for fashion-watchers. The collections on the runway offer plenty for both men and women to watch, bookmark and take inspiration from, with designers going all out to catch the attention of different generations and make their fashion statements count.
Held from October 30 to November 1, 2026, Bombay Times Fashion Week continues through the weekend, with more designers, collections and celebrity appearances taking over the runway before the celebrations culminate in another glitzy finale event on November 1.
The opening day itself featured six runway presentations, with personalities from entertainment, sports and the creative world adding star power to the collections.
VEEN – THE WEAVE: Celebrating India’s Weavers
The day began with VEEN – THE WEAVE (Empowering Weavers), an A Bhujbal initiative presented by Dr. Shefali Bhujbal in collaboration with Pallavi Goyal. With Genelia D’Souza as the showstopper, the presentation turned the spotlight towards India’s rich weaving traditions while highlighting the importance of supporting and empowering artisan communities through fashion.
Babita Malkani Meets the World of Sport
The 2 pm showcase brought together fashion and sport as designer Babita Malkani, presented by Hell Energy Drink, took the runway with international Indian cricketer Renuka Singh Thakur as the showstopper.
The presentation added a sporting edge to the day’s fashion proceedings, bringing two very different worlds together on the Bombay Times Fashion Week runway.
Marks & Spencer Brings Contemporary Dressing to the Runway
At 4 pm, Marks & Spencer presented its take on contemporary fashion, bringing its approach to modern dressing and everyday style to the runway.
Whistling Woods International Celebrates Creative Talent
The creative arts took centre stage at the 6 pm presentation by Whistling Woods International, with actor Shreyas Talpade as the showstopper.
The showcase celebrated emerging talent and creativity while reflecting the natural connection between fashion, performance and the wider entertainment industry.
Fashion with a Purpose: Leaders for a Sustainable Future
One of the more distinctive moments of the opening day came with Walk for a Cause – Leaders for a Sustainable Future, featuring designer Archana Kochhar.
More than 20 CEOs walked the ramp as part of the initiative, using the visibility and reach of fashion to draw attention to sustainability and responsible leadership. It was a reminder that a runway can be about more than clothes — it can also become a platform for conversations around the choices and responsibilities shaping the future.
Bharat & Reshma Close Day One on a Glamorous Note
The final show of the opening day belonged to Bharat & Reshma, with actor Ibrahim Ali Khan as the showstopper. His appearance brought an added dose of celebrity glamour to the closing presentation, wrapping up a day that had moved effortlessly between heritage, contemporary fashion, sport, creativity, sustainability and entertainment.

With Bombay Times Fashion Week 2026 continuing through November 1, the opening day has set the stage for two more days of runway action. And with Diwali, weddings and the winter festive calendar fast approaching, there is plenty for fashion followers to keep an eye on — from silhouettes and fabrics to colours, occasion dressing and ideas that can easily move from the runway into real wardrobes.
The bigger takeaway is that designers are clearly looking beyond a single fashion demographic this season. From younger audiences discovering their own style to more seasoned fashion followers looking for fresh ways to dress up, the runway is making a determined play for every generation. For Mumbai’s fashion crowd, there is still plenty more to watch, note and perhaps even add to the festive wish list before the final curtain falls on November 1.
