VIBE Movie Review: Kunal Kemmu Delivers Comedy, Chaos & Pure Entertainment
What if “entertainment, entertainment, entertainment” wasn’t just an old Bollywood catchphrase, but an actual cinematic mission statement?
Enter VIBE — and boy, does this Kunal Kemmu entertainer understand the assignment. Comedy? Bring it on. Romance? Got that too. Action, drama, thrills, twists, chaos, and crazy characters? It is all packed into a ride designed to keep the energy soaring.
Our VIBE review comes with a simple confession: we had pure, unfiltered, popcorn-and-laughter fun. Kunal Kemmu — wearing the hats of actor, writer, director, and producer — isn’t interested in playing safe. He throws genres into the blender, cranks up the pace, and lets this wonderfully chaotic story loose on the audience.
At the Heart of the Chaos: The Lead Cast
At the heart of this wonderfully chaotic universe is Kunal Kemmu as Hardik Sharma. Having spent years mastering comic timing and character-driven humor as an actor, Kemmu channels that expertise behind the camera, anchoring the film with magnetic charisma while driving its pacing, chemistry, and infectious energy. Alongside him, Sparsh Shrivastava turns Bugs into an unforgettable standout; with a blend of unpredictable energy and infectious irreverence, Sparsh gives the core dynamic an extra spark, knowing precisely when to let a reaction land and when to push the comedic absurdity to its limits. Vanshika Dhir makes her presence firmly felt as Kareena (a.k.a. Huma), bringing a refreshing ease and punchy energy that allows her to hold her own brilliantly alongside seasoned stars, showcasing the sharp talent of a newer generation. Rounding out the primary lineup, Preity Zinta proves that true screen presence is timeless as Madam H. Oozing effortless confidence and glamour, she looks absolutely fabulous while delivering stunning, high-octane action sequences, stepping into the world of VIBE with razor-sharp attitude and physical grit.
The Premise: High Stakes, Higher Absurdity
At its core, VIBE follows two tech-company bosom pals whose ordinary lives crash into extraordinary chaos. Hardik (Kunal Kemmu) is riding high on life and head-over-heels in love with his co-worker, Kareena (Vanshika Dhir). Meanwhile, his best buddy Bhagirath, a.k.a. “Bugs” (Sparsh Shrivastava), is a certified tech wizard with a knack for unpredictable madness.
The party gets crashed when Hardik is unexpectedly drafted into a secret service agency spearheaded by the formidable Madame H (Preity Zinta). The mission? Uncover intel on Abu Al Sayeed (Hiten Paintal), a sinister terrorist planning a major attack on India. Bugs is quickly pulled into the crossfire, forcing two clueless slacker-bros to step up, navigate espionage, and save the nation — whether they are ready for it or not!
The screenplay keeps the narrative momentum moving. The first half is racy setting up the characters and relationships while letting the situational humor unfold naturally. Post-interval, the film action and thriller elements escalate, the stakes rise, and the madness reaches new heights — all while keeping the comedic core intact.
Supported by sharp, spontaneous dialogues, the pacing transitions smoothly between comedy, romance, and thrill without letting one genre override the rest.
Pure Entertainment — With a Capital ‘E’
This is the kind of movie-watching experience that shines brightest when shared — By refusing to take itself too seriously while still delivering slick production values, VIBE captures the exact heart, soul, and magic that make the Hindi film industry so universally awed. Complete with collective laughter, unexpected twists, and pure theatrical energy. Whether you head in solo, bring your friends, or drag along your family, there is enough magic happening here for every generation to enjoy. At the box office, its urban appeal and youth-friendly humor should help it find its target audience easily. VIBE isn’t just a must-watch — it gets a big, resounding YES from us.
Co-produced by Drongo Films—the production banner founded by Kunal Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani—alongside Amazon MGM Studios acting as the main presenter, backer, and distributor handling the theatrical rollout before its eventual streaming premiere on Prime Video, VIBE releases in theaters on September 18, 2026.
