FUJIFILM India has unveiled the instax mini Evo Cinema™, the newest addition to its popular Evo series, blending cinematic creativity with instant photography. Launched in Mumbai in the presence of acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, the camera is designed for creators who want more than just images — it promises storytelling that moves seamlessly between video, stills, and tangible instant prints.
Positioned as a premium hybrid instant camera, the instax mini Evo Cinema™ combines classic analog design cues with modern digital functionality, allowing users to capture moments, reinterpret them creatively, and preserve them in physical form. The launch reinforces Fujifilm’s focus on evolving instant photography for a new generation of content creators, storytellers, and lifestyle enthusiasts.
A Hybrid instax™ That Lets You ‘Hand Over’ a Video
What truly sets the instax mini Evo Cinema™ apart is its video-to-print capability — a first-of-its-kind experience in the instax™ ecosystem. The camera captures both still images and short videos, converting selected video moments into instax™ prints embedded with a QR code. Scanning the code allows viewers to instantly relive the video clip, turning a physical photograph into a gateway to motion and memory.
This feature brings a new emotional layer to instant photography, making it ideal for gifting, sharing personal moments, or preserving memories that deserve more than just a digital scroll.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, said:
“At FUJIFILM India, our commitment to innovation is guided by our purpose of ‘Giving our world more smiles’. The instax mini Evo Cinema™ reflects this philosophy by combining cinematic creativity with the emotional value of instant prints, offering consumers a meaningful way to express themselves and preserve memories in a digital age.”
Key Features & Technical Highlights of instax mini Evo Cinema™
Under its refined exterior, the instax mini Evo Cinema™ packs a range of creative tools designed to enhance both still photography and video storytelling.
The camera introduces the all-new Eras Dial™, inspired by iconic visual styles across decades. Users can choose from 10 era-inspired effects, including a “1960” mode influenced by classic 8mm film cameras. Each effect offers 10 adjustable intensity levels, unlocking 100 unique visual expressions that add mood, nostalgia, and cinematic depth to images and videos.
Design-wise, the camera features a vertical grip inspired by Fujifilm’s FUJICA Single-8 (1965), delivering a tactile, analog-style shooting experience. A rear LCD screen allows users to preview shots, select favourites, and print only what they love — a hallmark of the Evo hybrid series.
The dedicated instax mini Evo™ app further enhances creative control, enabling users to combine video clips, apply cinematic opening and ending templates, and edit content seamlessly. The camera also doubles as a smartphone printer, allowing direct printing of images stored on mobile devices — effectively making it a 3-in-1 device for video capture, photography, and instant printing.
Adding to the product vision, Mr. Arun Babu, Associate Director & Head of Electronic Imaging, instax™ & Optical Devices Business, FUJIFILM India, shared: “The instax mini Evo Cinema™ is designed for a new generation of creators who enjoy experimenting with formats and storytelling styles.
