Or: how I fell head-over-sneakers in love with ‘the city that never sleeps’
Hi! I’m Saveeta —field producer, story-hustler and cutting-chai addict. I’ve chased stories across over a dozen countries, but every time the plane descends over the Arabian Sea my heart does that “welcome home” somersault. I live in Andheri—yes, the land of infinite auto-fare debates and even bigger dreams—where the metro now glides above the same street that once only knew traffic jams.
After years of working in PR and corporate communications, representing some of the city’s most recognisable names and newsmakers, I did something unexpected — I hung up the corporate heels and chose the road instead. Travel became my classroom, my reset button, and my favourite way to understand people, places and stories beyond boardrooms and press briefings.
And when I’m not travelling, I’m right here — living my best Mumbai life with my little Punjabi trio: a Gen Z child who keeps me current, and a Hindi film–maker husband who ensures cinema is never far from our dinner-table conversations. Somewhere between airport lounges and home-cooked meals, I realised I needed a space that could hold all of it.
That’s how this blog came to life.
This is where I share what I see, eat, watch, walk into, travel for, and come back home to. So whether you’re looking for things to do in Mumbai, hidden cafés, film screenings, street-food trails, travel stories, or simply a slice of city life that feels real and familiar — you’ll find it here, told the way I live it.
My Mumbai Résumé, Told Through Its Moments
From fashion store launches where style icons walk hand-in-hand with their favourite designers at BTFW, to the sparkle of Ambani diamonds finding their way into jewellery influencer Julia Chafe’s podcast — Mumbai never does anything quietly, and neither does its culture.
I’ve watched food and travel bloggers turn Mumbai’s beloved street food into global conversations, celebrating vada pavs, cutting chai and coastal flavours at festivals hosted by the Government of Maharashtra. I’ve seen the city welcome the world — from football legend Lionel Messi’s self-proclaimed GOAT tour in Mumbai to the Tata Mumbai Marathon, drawing runners and stories from across continents.
Cinema, of course, runs through everything. This is the city that gives us a Dhurandhar and also sends Priyanka Chopra out to conquer Hollywood — effortlessly reminding the world that Mumbai doesn’t just create stars, it exports them.
And somewhere between roadside pavbhaji at 2 a.m. and matcha cafés at 2 p.m., between moonlit concerts and international music festivals, this city keeps reinventing itself — and I keep getting front-row access to its many lives.
Sharing space with legacy names like the Tatas, the Ambanis, and the unmistakable global aura of Shah Rukh Khan, Mumbai continues to feel less like a city and more like a living, breathing ambition.
Mumbai, you pretty thing — you’re not just where I work or write from.
You’re the only address I ever want on my passport.
