On May 1st at the Phoenix Market City in Kurla, Skating champ Rishi Sarode’s young group attempted a unique world record. These eight girls – Kudrat Kaur, Maanya Shenoy, Ailish Garg, Shreya Shah, Dhvani Makheja, Aarushi Bindal, Saanvi Mishra, Jia Sharma and one boy, Jash Sarode, set a new World Record by performing hula hoop for 6 minutes and 4 seconds wearing Quad Skates.
The highlight of this event was Jash’s solo performance of 7 minutes on Inline Skates wearing Hula Hoop Ring.
Interestingly, the average age of the kid’s participants is from 5 to 11 years. Skating champ Rishi Sarode, Jash’s father, and a holder of Guinness world record for scaling Mt Kanchenjunga in 15 hours and 27 seconds on roller skates besides a Limca Book of Records title for jumping across three Maruti 800 cars on roller skates, is the brain behind this initiative.
“I have chosen these kids from the various institutes I teach in. They have put in tremendous hard work over the last four months. It is never been heard, done or tried in India. What we are going to do, is totally a unique concept. I was looking to make a record for India that cannot be broken easily and that’s how I came up with this idea. I started searching girls to make this record but as it was destined, I found my team. I also encouraged their parents. We are now ready to make India proud,” Sarode said.
Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, who was last seen in Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil, was present at the event as a chief guest along with her mother Meera who is a well renowned Sociologist.
World Record India President Mr Paavan Solanki, TPL CEO Mr Zahir Ranal and TPL Celebrity expert Mr Sameer Qureshi were also a part of this mega event.
